Fakemon FireRed

Don't Want to Read?
A FireRed hack that changes every single Pokémon to a new fakemon and introduces two new custom types: Digital and Cosmic. You're playing FireRed for the most part, but with all new teams and a few new areas.- Avoids the issue of fakemon not fitting in with other Pokémon's design and art style by making everything a fakemon.
- New Cosmic and Digital types add some variety to the gameplay.
- While many of the fakemon feel overpowered (you can get multiple pokemon with technician before the first gym), your opponents also being overpowered evens things out.
- Fakemon are fully designed down to cries (often overlooked aspect).
- Quality of Life features like a move deleter and reminder on the second floor of Pokemon Centers.
- A few too many gift Pokemon, it felt a bit overwhelming and random.
- While I appreciate flash not being a wasted move, its replacement is so powerful that I had it on multiple team members.
- My overall opinion of the fakemon designs was "fine" and I rarely was excited about the designs themselves. I did like some of my team a lot, but when you're designing this many of them, there's gonna be some chaff.
- Despite being built around using all 386 slots in the dex, the game doesn't give you the national dex at the start, you still have to do the Sevii Island quests. Despite that, it still doesn't have the new Pokémon in "order" so you just can't see a lot of your team's dex entries until the postgame.

Review
A really ambitious romhack. I know a lot of people don't care for fakemon, but I'm always interested in seeing some original Pokémon ideas in hacks. While new regional variants is the more common compromise these days, I'm excited to see people just come up with something new. Obviously, this is where the focus of the hack was as the overall story and progression matches FireRed almost exactly.
The new types Cosmic and Digital take some getting used to, but Ice resisting both of them provides a good buff to Ice on its own. Every type in the game has a good variety and I think you could probably do a monotype run with any type without too much trouble.
The new fakemon are pretty powerful across the board, lots of stat spreads are optimized for roles, and powerful abilities like Technician and Dry Skin are handed out like candy. Since your team is just as overpowered as the enemy, this balances out, but I hated how often I'd just find out the hard way yet another fakemon has levitate and I'm wasting a turn.
Take a look at the screenshots or wiki to see what you think of the designs, which are obviously up to a lot of personal taste. I think with 386 of them, everyone's going to be able to build a team they like. Either way, I love experimenting with new teams and while an original story or region is nice, using the Kanto framework everyone is familiar with definitely lets all the new fakemon shine.
